Activity: Proper Hand Washing
Materials Needed:
A washing area with sink, soap and paper towels/hand dryer
A camera
Card stock for displaying pictures showing the steps of proper hand washing
Lamination
Let’s Get Started:
1. Teach the child proper hand washing techniques by showing her how to wet, apply soap, rinse and thoroughly dry her hands. NOTE: If water is not available, the adult should instruct the child in using hand sanitizer to accomplish hand washing.
2. Take pictures of the child at each stage of the hand washing procedure.
3. Mount the pictures on card stock.
4. Laminate the picture cards and display them in the hand washing area as a reminder for the child to include all steps.
