Toddlers are in a critical time for motor skill development, both gross motor and fine motor skills. Caregivers should continually provide activities that promote healthy physical development as the child goes from walking to running and jumping. A toddler will also begin to throw and catch and perform other eye-hand coordination skills. This is also the time when most children become toilet trained and develop a taste for nutritious foods.
