Motor skill development begins to grow from the very moment of birth. The child begins to hold his up head, smile, reach with his arms and eventually sits, stands and walks. The caregiver can provide a safe and encouraging environment for the infant to explore and develop these very important motor skills.

 
Motor Skills
Sits unassisted.
The child is able to sit on the floor unassisted without rolling on her side. (EP5)

    Scoots and creeps. The child begins to scoot and creep to move to a new area. (EP6)

    Crawls and pulls up to a stand. The child begins rocking back and forth on her hands and knees and then masters crawling. the child can eventually crawl to a piece of furniture and pull up to a stand. (EP7)

    Health and Safety
    Holds bottle and feeds self small foods.
    The child is able to hold her own bottle and begins to feed herself small pieces of soft foods. (EP10)
