Language is such an important part of an infant’s life during the first 18 months of development. Brain researchers agree that the developmental of language is critical during this time period. The ability to listen, understand and eventually speak begins to develop soon after birth. A caregiver can support this development by becoming aware of the developmental stages and providing a supportive environment in which the child. The development of language will during this time will affect the child’s entire life as she begins to listen, respond and communicate.
