From the time that the infant first engages in social interaction with another individual, social and emotional skills begin to be established. The infant will express different emotions depending on how the child feels and/or expresses the need for comfort. The infant begins to recognize familiar people at an early age and becomes a mirror of the emotions around him. Thus begins social interactions with others.
